Who we are

The Clay County Literacy Coalition (CCLC) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that offers one-on-one tutoring to teach adult residents of Clay County to read and to speak English.

CCLC provides all services and all materials for both tutors and students at NO cost, made possible through grants, memberships, donations and gifts.

CCLC was formed in 1995 when a small group of citizens recognized a need for a literacy program in the county.  For over 16 years we have made the difference in the lives of over 1500 residents of Clay County.

What we do

  • We promote literacy through participating in county-wide events, such as the Clay County Agricultural Fair, Orange Park Fall Fest, and Green Cove Springs Food Pantry Christmas Basket Give-Away.
  • We sponsor the 4th Grade Essay Writing competition involving 6 elementary schools.
  • We honor our students and volunteer tutors at our Annual Awards Dinner.
  • We partner with Clay County School District Adult and Community Education, The HOPE Center, and St. Catherine’s Catholic Church.
